Profile

What are you currently studying and how did you choose it?
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Archaeology in hopes to become a professor within a college or university.  I am studying the peopling of the New World, with a focus on stone tool technologies.  I also hope to investigate the roles of women and children in early Native American economies.

What do you enjoy most about working with UT undergrads?
Helping them find a career path that they will can enjoy and truly be passionate about.

What is the most important advice you would give new students?
Don’t be afraid to get to know your professors and build a relationship with them beyond the classroom. They are a great tool to help you academically, but they also can become great mentors. Remember they want you to succeed!

What is your favorite place on campus?
The Hodges Library.

Where is your favorite place on campus?
I love McClung Museum. It is a quiet place full of interesting artifacts and information. It is somewhere on campus you can lose yourself for an hour or two to de-stress and relax!

Why should students take advantage of the SSC?
As students ourselves we recognize the obstacles that many students face when transitioning to college life.  At the Student Success Center we are able provide students with the recourses, opportunities, and advice they need to succeed academically and also personally.
