UT LEAD Program
For Tennesse Pledge and Promise Scholarship Students
What is the UT LEAD Program?
The LEAD Program promotes academic excellence and undergraduate success through a support program for students who have been awarded the Tennessee Pledge and Tennessee Promise scholarships, as well as continuing AAA and AAIG students. As a Tennessee Pledge or Promise student, you will participate in special academic counseling programs, first-year seminars, leadership development programs, academic success workshops and other UT learning opportunities.

These four principles serve as a focus for the UT LEAD Program.
Requirements for all first-year Tennessee Pledge and Promise Scholarship students:
- Satisfy academic requirements for continuation of your scholarship (good academic standing—2.0 cumulative GPA)
- Enroll in a UT LEAD section of First Year Studies 101: The UT Experience (fall semester)
- Meet with your LEAD academic counselor as well as your assigned college academic advisor (fall and spring semesters)
- Enroll in a section of First Year Studies 129: Freshman Seminar (spring semester)
- Participate in academic success seminars presented by the UT LEAD academic counselors.
