Learning Communities
One of the best predictors of success in college is how involved you are and how much you feel a part of the campus. Because of this, UT offers freshmen students exciting opportunities to live and learn with their fellow classmates in living, learning communities. Currently, UT has four communities which are all housed on separate floors of Morrill Hall.
The Volunteer Community
The Honors Community
The Engage Community
The Design Community
Each community is unique in both design and requirements, but all of the communities provide you will opportunities to connect with your classmates, become involved in campus life, and develop skills that will enable you to be both a successful student and leader. Because each community has its own special series of social, cultural, recreational, and educational programs, a $50 program fee is required from each member of the community. This covers the cost of activities such as free tutoring sessions, plays, hiking trips, and whitewater rafting trips, and by paying this one time fee, you’ll be able to enjoy those activities without purchasing a separate ticket for each.
