Tutoring and Study Help

Need a tutor?

If you are struggling academically, you may find that you could first benefit from some assistance with your overall learning strategies. If you need assistance comprehending the content of a course, the following resources will help you find a tutor.

Options for locating a tutor:

  1. Contact the Office of Minority Affairs in the Black Cultural Center or any of the tutorial centers.
  2. Contact the department of the course you are taking to see if tutorial services are available.
  3. Visit your instructor during his/her office hours to discuss your performance in the course and ask if he/she can recommend any students who may be interested in private tutoring.

Free Tutorial Centers/Tutoring [complete listing]

You know you need some help, but not necessarily all of the time. You could give one of the tutorial centers a try. Many of them offer walk-in help on a case by case basis.

Departmental Tutorial Services [complete listing]

We have a list of the tutoring services available on campus listed by department. Take a look at it. See if tutoring is offered by the department from which you are taking the class you need help in. But remember, many of these services charge a fee.
