{"id":267,"date":"2023-10-27T09:06:08","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T13:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/advising\/?page_id=267"},"modified":"2026-01-20T11:26:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T16:26:13","slug":"our-team","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/advising\/about\/our-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr class=\"orange-hash\">\n\n\n\n<p>The Office of Advising &amp; Technology Initiatives is committed to supporting our undergraduate scholars and the the University of Tennessee, Knoxville&#8217;s community of academic advisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the Division of Student Success, we are aligned with the division\u2019s mission to collaborate with UT faculty and staff to help each scholar maximize their individual strengths and understand how their strengths contribute to their academic dreams, career paths, and personal well-being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our team also supports the academic advising community by providing ongoing professional development and training opportunities for staff, and we work in collaboration with our college partners to coordinate campus-wide advising initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><strong>NOTE: Students are advised in their <a href=\"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/advising\/college-advising-centers\/\">College Advising Center<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/advising\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2025\/03\/Isabelle-Langham-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-503\" style=\"width:200px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Isabelle Rena Langham, Director<\/strong> (she\/her)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>i\u00b7zuh-bella | ruh-nay | lane-gum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isabelle Rena Langham&nbsp;serves as the Director of Advising and Technology Initiatives (ATI), where she leads with a deep commitment to student-centered innovation, strategic collaboration, and intentional design. With over 15 years of experience across higher education, government, and nonprofit sectors, Isabelle brings a unique, cross-sector lens to ATI\u2019s work at UT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A proud first-generation college graduate from Moss Point, MS, Isabelle holds a BA in English from Tennessee State University and an MEd in Organizational Leadership and Communications from Belmont University and currently pursuing a doctorate in Public Administration and Policy. Her work is guided by data-informed, people-first principles that prioritize lived experiences, meaningful connection, and consistent communication. Given the scope of ATI\u2019s work, Isabelle will support campus-wide advising efforts with a forward-looking mindset to contribute to the thriving scholar and advising community landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isabelle is a NACADA Emerging Leader and an active contributor to the national conversation on advising excellence. Throughout her career she\u2019s managed fitness programs at several universities and abroad. Shena also served as a Physical Health &amp; Wellness Coach for wounded veterans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She holds a BA in Exercise Science from Rowan University and an MEd in Physical Education from Valdosta State University. Shena\u2019s background includes collaborative programming, staff development, assessment, mentoring, and coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shena\u2019s passion for education and helping others has been the motivation behind her career. Turner, Coordinator of Advising Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sierra N. Turner serves as the Coordinator of Advising Services with Advising and Technology Initiatives (ATI), where she supports institutional advising efforts through strategic coordination, systems-level thinking, and collaborative partnerships. In her role, she works at the intersection of student success, advising operations, and technology to enhance advisor capacity and improve student experiences across the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Community Health Education, grounding her work in evidence-based approaches to learning, behavior change, and holistic student development. Her background in public health informs her commitment to equity, access, and prevention-oriented practices within higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sierra brings extensive experience in academic coaching, health education, and professional development, with a particular passion for helping individuals and institutions navigate complex systems with clarity and confidence. Her work is guided by a belief that meaningful progress occurs when gaps between knowledge and practice, policy and people, systems and lived experience are intentionally addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She brings a global perspective to her work, informed by extensive international travel and engagement across more than 30 countries, which deepens her commitment to global education and culturally responsive practice. She currently studies Psychology and minors in both Hispanic Studies and Interpersonal Development.
