Chris Shuping

Associate Director, Academic & Career Exploration


Biography

Chris Shuping is the Associate Director for the Academic and Career Exploration Team. He primarily works with exploratory first and second year students who are choosing their majors and careers in individual and group settings. He also coordinates transition advising for the ACE Team. He develops experiential learning opportunities for students such as job shadowing days. He teaches first-year studies for exploratory students each fall. Prior to assuming this role, he was an academic advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences working with exploratory students, pre-health students, and students in declared majors. Chris is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and has previously served on the Chancellor’s Commission for LGBT People.

In his free time, Chris enjoys reading, traveling, playing with his dogs, and going to trivia with friends.

B.A. in History, minors in Russian and Political Science – University of South Carolina, Columbia
