Chris Shuping

Associate Director, Academic & Career Exploration


Biography

Chris Shuping is the Associate Director for the Academic and Career Exploration (ACE) Team. He primarily works with exploratory first- and second-year students and students in transition. He coordinates the day-to-day academic advising functions for the ACE Team. He also teaches First-Year Studies 101 for exploratory students each fall and has previously taught Exploring Majors & Careers. Prior to joining the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration in 2018, he was an academic advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences working with exploratory students, pre-health students, and students in declared majors. Chris is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and has previously served on the Chancellor’s Commission for LGBT People.

In his free time, Chris enjoys reading, traveling, playing with his dogs, and going to trivia with friends.
