Part-Time Employment

Student employment, also known as Job Location & Development (JLD), is a federally funded service. The mission of JLD is to assist students in finding jobs and to promote self-help in educational financing, as well as to encourage a sense of personal achievement and the development of positive values. Part-time jobs are on and off campus.

Finding and Applying for Opportunities

  • The Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration posts all part-time and seasonal opportunities for UT students in Handshake and hosts annual job fairs for students to connect with employers.
  • The Part-Time Employment Fair is held each year at the beginning of the semester. Be sure to check out the events and job fairs in Handshake to learn about this year’s date and attending employers!
  • In the spring the Summer Experiences Fair provides the opportunity for students to meet with potential employers for Summer jobs and other summer activities. Check Handshake under “Fairs” for dates and times.
  • Start building your resume early. Learning how to create a professional resume and developing interview skills now will save you time and effort later. When the time comes that a resume is requested by an employer, you should have a current resume ready.
  • Below you will find links to current active part-time openings in Handshake job collections.
