Spring 2028<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate activities and events managed specifically by the FYET team for new Vols during Vol 104: Big Orange Welcome.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a mentor and role model to incoming students by displaying responsibility and maturity.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize new students and families\/guests with campus services and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Provide extraordinary customer service to all participates of Big Orange Welcome.<\/li>\n<li>Work up to 40 hours during Week 0 of Big Orange Welcome (Fall Move-In Week).<\/li>\n<li>Work up to 20 hours during Transfer Student Week (October 18-22, 2027).<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate activities for new students during Vol 103: On-Campus Experience and Vol 106: Vols Start Back in Spring 2028.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>General Responsibilities <\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay engaged with the Orientation team outside of designated staff meeting and retreat times.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Team Leaders, other Orientation Leaders, interns, and FYET professional staff.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, responsible, helpful, and flexible.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with a group of people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>*This list is not exhaustive &amp; other duties will be assigned.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"panel-group\" id=\"custom-collapse-1\" role=\"tablist\" aria-multiselectable=\"true\"><\/div> <div class=\"panel  panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h3 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#custom-collapse-1\"\" href=\"#custom-collapse-1-1\"  aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"#custom-collapse-1-1\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"icon-collapse\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\"><path d=\"M0 7.33l2.829-2.83 9.175 9.339 9.167-9.339 2.829 2.83-11.996 12.17z\"\/><\/svg> Eligibility<\/a><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"custom-collapse-1-1\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse panel-collapse collapse\"><div class=\"panel-body\"><\/p>\n<p>To be considered for a 2027 Orientation Leader position, each candidate must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, throughout the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, Fall 2027, and Spring 2028 semesters.<\/li>\n<li>Have completed 12 credit hours at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, by January 2027.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA (if below a 2.5 GPA, the applicant must speak with an FYET Staff member). GPA will be verified during the application process and throughout the OL term.<\/li>\n<li>Be in good academic standing with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and uphold the university standards of conduct through the duration of the position.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to work effectively with a group of team members.<\/li>\n<li><strong>*Request to take courses during the summer semester(s). Any classes must not conflict with Vol 103: On-Campus Experience.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>*Request to hold an outside job during the summer contract period.
