Kara Addy

Kara Addy is the Director of Internal and Executive Communication in Division of Student Success at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

She sets the strategy for communication and advises senior leaders within the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success and the Division. Her responsibilities include developing content that informs, engages and connects staff through various channels, including social media, the newsletter, intranet, and email. Kara creates content and writes speeches, articles and briefing materials on behalf of the Vice Provost and the Division’s leadership team.

A career communications professional, Kara holds the accreditation in public relations (APR). She served three universities prior to joining UTK, including the University of South Carolina, where she earned an Award of Excellence from the state chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for her work on the highly successful Carolina’s Promise Campaign.

Kara holds a bachelor of science in communications from Florida State University.
