Creating an Unlisted YouTube Link<\/h3>\n

Many online symposiums require participants to upload an “unlisted” YouTube link.<\/p>\n

How to upload an Unlisted YouTube video:<\/strong><\/p>\n

An unlisted video is different than a private video. \u201cUnlisted\u201d means that only people who know the link to the video can view it (such as your faculty advisor, preceptor, or friends to whom you send the link). An unlisted video will not appear in any of YouTube\u2019s public spaces (such as search results, your channel, or the Browse page). An unlisted video is different than a private video because you don\u2019t need a YouTube account to watch the video (all you need is the link) and there\u2019s no 50 person sharing limit. You can choose to make any of your uploads an unlisted video in your YouTube Account settings.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Sign into or create your YouTube Account<\/li>\n
  2. Go to your My Channel page<\/li>\n
  3. If you need to upload a video, click on create a video or post (camcorder) in the upper right banner, then upload video.<\/li>\n
  4. Change the setting to upload the video as an unlisted video and select the video from your desktop which you\u2019d like to make an unlisted video. Click Done to confirm. Copy link and include when you submit your poster.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you want to edit a video you\u2019ve already uploaded:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Go to the Video Manager and click on the video.<\/li>\n
    2. Go to Edit. Under Basic Information, you\u2019ll see the option to mark your video as \u201cunlisted,\u201d \u201cpublic,\u201d or \u201cprivate.\u201d Select unlisted.<\/li>\n
    3. Don\u2019t forget to click the Save Changes button.<\/li>\n
    4. Copy the \u201cVideo URL\u201d found to the right of the video in Video Manager (under \u201cvideo information\u201d), and include this when you submit your poster.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Guidelines for Virtual Symposium Posters<\/h3>\n

      When creating your poster, consider the following guidelines:<\/p>\n

      The posters need to be PDFs and under 10MB. As far as dimensions go, we recommend at least 1500px (5in) in both length and width.<\/p>\n
