{"id":41,"date":"2022-03-24T08:32:37","date_gmt":"2022-03-24T12:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/ve\/?page_id=41"},"modified":"2022-04-27T10:21:40","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T14:21:40","slug":"timeline","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/ve\/timeline\/","title":{"rendered":"Timeline"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"orange-hash\">\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spring 2021<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2021, the Office of the Provost appointed a Strengths-Mindset Advisory Council to develop recommendations about how the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, can incorporate well-being as the foundation of the Volunteer experience as outlined in the strategic vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/strengths-mindset-consultants-advisory-council\/\">Strengths-Mindset Advisory Council<\/a> proposed their recommendations, and the provost approved the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Incorporation of PERMA theory of well-being as the framework for the overall initiative<\/li><li>Implementation of a university-wide committee to inform the design of the Volunteer Experience Program<\/li><li>Development of transformational student grants to incentivize participation in experiential learning activities<\/li><li>Creation of a paid faculty fellows program, established for early adopters of the well-being initiative<\/li><li>Invest in integrated technology system to allow for program customization and personalization<\/li><li>Offer sizeable Student Success grants for academic departments interested in adopting well-being through the PERMA framework in introductory level, first-year courses<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fall 2021 <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Piloted the first Student Success grants with Biology 150 and Biology 160<\/li><li>Hosted the Vol Success Summit, offering professional development around strategic content areas relevant to the Volunteer Experience initiative<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spring 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Launched the<a href=\"https:\/\/studentsuccess.utk.edu\/ve\/volunteer-experience-committee\/\"> Volunteer Experience Committee<\/a> to propose foundational elements of the student-facing Volunteer Experience Program<\/li><li>Launched review of existing learning community offerings and national best practices<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fall 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Launch revised New Vol Orientation program, with a multi-phase approach to onboarding new Vols that includes academic advising, summer welcome, online orientation, and Big Orange Welcome, UT\u2019s six-week welcome period at the beginning of the semester.
