Vol 103 is an optional one-day, on-campus experience that gives first-year students and their family the chance to connect with academic and campus life resources, see a residence hall, eat in Rocky Top Dining Hall, and connect with other new Vols and their families.

Program Details
Vol 103 is optional! The program runs from 8 am – 5pm EST and there are several sessions available throughout June. Students who choose not to attend can engage with similar content during Vol 101: Online Introduction to UT and Vol 104: Big Orange Welcome in August.
Select colleges will provide in-person advising and course registration as a component of this program. Students within these select colleges can choose their preference during the Orientation registration process.

- Create meaningful connections with fellow new Vols and their families.

No, Vol 103 is optional. This program is a good fit for you if you want to visit campus in the summer to connect with your academic college, UT staff, or current Vols.
Yes! You will select your date for Vol 103 when you register for Orientation.

Vol 103 is only for students who have confirmed their enrollment at UT. This is your opportunity to connect with other new Vols who will be joining you on Rocky Top in August.
If you can’t attend or prefer not to travel to campus for Vol 103, don’t worry! There are several ways to stay informed as you prepare to start classes in August.
- The information provided during this program will also be available in Vol 101, Big Orange Welcome, and your First-Year Seminar.
