Biography

As the leader of University Honors daily operations, Talisha Adams plays a pivotal role in shaping the experiences and success of students in the Honors program. Her responsibilities span critical areas that directly influence recruitment, admissions, persistence, and overall student engagement.

Dr. Adams designs and implements strategies to attract and retain high-achieving, motivated scholars who thrive in the Honors program. She works collaboratively with faculty, staff, admissions officers, and student ambassadors to cultivate engaging and meaningful student experiences. In addition, she leads staff development initiatives and fosters engagement within the Honors unit.

Adams has a B.S. in psychology, Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs, and Ed.D. in educational leadership. She has a variety of higher education experience including housing and residence life, student activities, academic advising, academic support and learning assistance, first-year experience, access initiatives, and summer bridge programs.

One of Adams’ favorites quotes by Dr. Maya Angelou states, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Therefore, she believes it is important for educators to ensure that every interaction leaves scholars and colleagues feeling like they matter and belong.
