Doug Porter is the Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives in the Division of Student Success. In this role he focuses on lifting the Vol Edge, a campus-wide career readiness program designed to support all students in building the skills and experience they need for success in life and career.

Before coming to UT, Doug led career readiness initiatives and coaching for students in the languages/linguistics at Brigham Young University. He also worked as a localization project manager, translator, and language educator.

Doug grew up in Boise, Idaho, and holds an MA in Hispanic Linguistics and a BA in Spanish Translation from Brigham Young University.
