Eugene Henderson, III

Eugene Henderson serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to Vice Provost Amber Williams in the Division of Student Success, where he provides strategic leadership and operational coordination for division- and university-wide priorities.

In this role, he manages complex projects and initiatives involving research and policy development, student success innovation, fundraising, and stewardship. Eugene serves as a trusted adviser to the Chief of Staff and represents executive leadership in delegated initiatives that advance institutional goals. 

He builds strong cross-campus partnerships, ensures alignment on major initiatives, and leads efforts that enhance operational efficiency, student success outcomes, and data-informed decision-making. His responsibilities include overseeing high-priority projects, conducting research and analysis that informs planning and policy development, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to advance the university’s mission. 

Eugene previously served as Director of the UT Success Academy and held senior leadership roles in student-athlete academic services at the University of Toledo and Vanderbilt University. A native of Tennessee, Eugene holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Master of Science in Sport Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University.
