Transfer students are defined as students who started their collegiate career at a different institution prior to enrolling at the University of Tennessee. University Honors at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville offers transformational opportunities that will immediately stretch our scholars’ thinking through unique academic experiences, interactive and interdisciplinary seminars, and hands-on activities. Transfer students are eligible to able to apply for the Chancellor’s Honors Program.
Chancellor’s Honors Program
QUALIFICATIONS
University Honors completes a holistic review of each application. Most students enrolling in the Chancellor’s Honors Program demonstrate academic excellence, a passion and commitment to making a difference in their communities, and deep engagement in opportunities available to them in their academic and broader community. Transfer students must have a minimum Qualifying GPA of 3.5 from their transfer institution to apply.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Interested transfer students need to submit the University Honors application by January 1 for spring semester, and by July 15 for fall semester.
- If selected for the program, scholars will be notified of their admission decision by January 15 for the spring semester and by August 1 for fall semester.
Students selected for the program will need to complete at least six (6) Honors courses, a capstone project, and intercultural “Ready for the World project. For a list of Honors courses approved for CHP, please click here.
