How to Apply

Incoming First-Year Students

Qualifications to apply:

  • Students with a 4.0 weighted core GPA are invited to apply for University Honors.

Application process:

  • Apply to UT by November 1 via govols.utk.edu or Common App.
  • Qualified students will be notified of their availability to apply via email.
  • The deadline to apply for Chancellor’s Honors Program by November 19.
  • The deadline to apply for Haslam Leadership Scholars is November 21.

Notification timeline:

  • Students who submit a Chancellor’s Honors Program application by 11:59 pm (ET) on November 19 will be notified of their decision by mid-December.
  • Students who submit a Haslam Leadership Scholars application by 11:59 pm (ET) on November 21 will be notified during the spring semester if they were selected for a semi-finalist Zoom interview.
