Biography

Lindsey Brindel is excited to serve the University Honors team as its Academic Affairs Coordinator. A Knoxville native, Lindsey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2002 and her Master of Science degree in Education at UT in 2003. As an undergraduate, Lindsey participated in the Normandy Scholars program and worked with the Center for the Study of War and Society (now the Center for the Study of Tennesseans and War) at UTK, interviewing physicians and nurses who served in World War II and transcribing those interviews for historic preservation.

Her career spans several years of teaching both history and English at the secondary level in both private and public schools in Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, Lindsey worked as a curriculum developer and museum educator in Naperville, Illinois.

Returning to her roots in Knoxville in 2020, she and her husband, James, enjoy living close to her family and raising their two children. Lindsey enjoys spending her free time camping and hiking in the Smokies with her family, volunteering as a Girl Scout outdoor education leader, cheering on her Vols in all sports, cooking and reading biographies and mysteries.
