Director of Strategic Communications
Richard Lee serves as the Director of Strategic Communications in the Division of Student Success. In this role, he advances student success initiatives and achieves institutional goals through creative, innovative, and forward-thinking communications strategies.
Over the course of his professional career, Richard has held a variety of roles in communications and marketing in such fields as higher education, collegiate athletics, and the private tech sector. His work has included stops at the University of Alabama, Auburn University, and N.C. State University, as well as a pair of thriving technology and data companies in Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
He has played a critical role in the areas of strategic communications, marketing strategy, visual storytelling, and brand enhancement in his previous ventures, and looks to continue bringing dynamic leadership and a robust plan of action to his current role in Student Success at UTK.
