Whitney Prescott

As the Director of Career Coaching and Education at the Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration (CCDAE), Whitney Prescott provides leadership and strategic oversight for three key areas: Career Coaching, Outreach, and the Vol Edge Program. She leads efforts to ensure career coaches and outreach professionals receive the professional development, resources, and support needed to deliver high-quality career education through one-on-one appointments, drop-ins, workshops, and classroom presentations.

With 14 years of progressive experience in higher education career services, Whitney has cultivated expertise in career development, employer relations, communications, and leadership. Before joining UT Knoxville, she served as the Director of Career Development and Programs at the University of Georgia Career Center, where she enhanced staff onboarding, and expanded career programming and other initiatives. She has also led strategic efforts in employer engagement, marketing, and student outreach.

Originally from Murray, Kentucky, Whitney holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Murray State University. She is a graduate of the Career Leadership Collective Mastermind and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Management Leadership Institute. Her contributions to the field have been nationally recognized, earning the NACE Technology Award for excellence in best practices using technology and social media.

A first-generation college student, Whitney is passionate about empowering students by building strong career education programs and strengthening connections between students and employers. Her leadership is driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in career services.
