Biography

Dr. Sarah Binion is a Teaching Assistant Professor in University Honors. A Tennessee native, she obtained her bachelor’s in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga before receiving her master’s in Forensic Science and a PhD in Biomedical Research from Marshall University. She has experience in both academic and industry contexts through research and instructor positions and her work at the Kentucky State Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. She has various publications in high-profile journals, as well as numerous presentations, both nationally and internationally. Her love of teaching came from mentoring in the lab during her PhD. She fosters an environment of conversation and collaboration within the classroom and hopes that her background in STEM provides a unique perspective for students in research and problem-solving.
