What is service learning?
Service learning is a way to connect what you’re learning in the classroom with real needs in the community. In a service-learning course, you’ll apply academic knowledge to hands-on and real-life projects that make a positive difference with a community-based partner, while reflecting on your experiences to deepen understanding and build skills. Service learning helps students:
- Gain practical, real-world experience
- Strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Explore career paths and professional interests
- Build meaningful connections with local organizations
- Contribute to positive change in the community
