Service Learning

What is service learning?

Service learning is a way to connect what you’re learning in the classroom with real needs in the community. In a service-learning course, you’ll apply academic knowledge to hands-on and real-life  projects that make a positive difference with a community-based partner, while reflecting on your experiences to deepen understanding and build skills. Service learning helps students:

  • Gain practical, real-world experience
  • Strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills
  • Explore career paths and professional interests
  • Build meaningful connections with local organizations
  • Contribute to positive change in the community
