Career readiness at UT

Career readiness initiatives

Career Readiness Initiatives connect students with career education, hands-on experience, and campus partnerships that prepare them for life after graduation. Through programs like Vol Edge, Career Advocates, and VOLIntern, students build professional skills, strengthen resumes and interview readiness, and access paid, career-relevant opportunities on campus, while faculty and staff gain tools to reinforce career readiness across the student experience.

Career readiness programs

Vol Edge

UT’s self-paced career readiness experience. Through self-paced modules, hands-on experiences, and personalized feedback, students build skills, gain experience, and prepare for life after graduation while developing confidence throughout their time at UT.

VOLIntern

Provides paid, on-campus internships that give students hands-on, career-relevant experience, professional skill-building, and meaningful connections while preparing for post-graduation success.

Career Advocates Program

Equips faculty and staff with tools and strategies to reinforce career readiness, connect students to support, and help create a more career-centered campus culture.

Career readiness across the UT experience

Career readiness is woven throughout the University of Tennessee experience. It extends beyond a single office or program and is strengthened through collaboration among students, faculty, staff, employers, and campus partners.
