The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s annual Academic Advising & Student Success Conference provides an opportunity to draw from our collective knowledge and reconnect with our regional community.

Help advance the field by leading an engaging and thoughtful conference session that resonates with the theme of “Effective Collaboration.”

Program Themes

While all proposals that connect with this broad theme will be considered, the Advising Professional Development Committee is particularly interested in reviewing submissions related to the following NACADA community areas:

Submission Guidelines

Submission Components

Before submitting your proposal, please be sure to have the following information ready:

  • Presenter(s)
  • Primary Presenter’s Email
  • Program Title
  • Program Format
  • Program Theme(s)
  • Abstract (150-word maximum)
  • Target Audience
  • A one-page document addressing the following:
    • Include the presentation title and presenter(s) in the document header.
      • Descriptive summary
      • Learning outcomes
      • Outline of program flow

Submission Criteria

Your proposal will be evaluated using the following standards:

  • Contribution to the conference’s thematic areas
  • Conceptually strong foundation
  • Clearly stated learning outcomes
  • Engaging program format that involves the audience and stimulates discussion

Submission Timeline

  • March 13: Call for proposals open
  • May 9: Program submission deadline
  • May 23: Final program decisions
  • June 3: Conference registration opens
  • July 14: Conference schedule announcement
  • August 22: Last day to register
  • September 8: Pre-conference (for UT employees only)
  • September 9: Day of conference
