WHAT IS UT FLAGSHIP INSTITUTE?

The UT Flagship Institute is a comprehensive, six-day program that has been specially crafted to support student scholars as they navigate the transition from high school to college life. This institute is held prior to the commencement of the fall semester and serves as a crucial stepping stone towards success at UT.

The program is designed to help students successfully adapt to the rigors of college life and develop the skills necessary to thrive in their new academic environment. With its focus on both academic and personal growth, the UT Flagship Institute is a valuable resource for students graduating from Flagship schools across the state of Tennessee. Through engaging lectures, interactive activities, and peer-to-peer networking opportunities, the program provides students with the resources and support they need to make the most of their college experience.

Program Highlights: 

The Flagship Institute program, which is administered by First-Generation Initiatives, offers a truly enriching educational experience for a culturally diverse group of students who are enrolled in Flagship schools located within the state of Tennessee.

As a one-week academic summer program, the Flagship Institute is designed to assist students in their transition to higher education prior to their first year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The program provides a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a rigorous academic environment, gain valuable insights and perspectives, and build meaningful relationships with their peers and mentors. The Flagship Institute experience promises to be both transformative and memorable, laying the foundation for a successful college journey.
