Advancing Student Well-Being, Strengths, and Career Readiness
Quality Enhancement Plan
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) advances student success by strengthening well-being, career readiness, and strengths development. Led by the Division of Student Success, the QEP supports student persistence, graduation, and post-graduation success while aligning with UT’s strategic goals.

What the QEP is
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a student success framework that organizes learning and development around three connected focus areas: strengths, well-being, and career readiness. Designed to support students throughout their undergraduate experience, the QEP helps them identify what contributes to success, build strategies for academic and personal well-being, and connect their learning to future career goals. Each focus area is guided by a faculty director that helps strengthen coordination across academic and co-curricular experiences.
Although a QEP is not required by SACSCOC in the current accreditation cycle, UT continues this work because it helps scholars build confidence, improve self-efficacy, and unlock their full potential as Volunteers.
QEP goals
Strengths Learning
Goal #1: Support each student in using Strengths Learning to enhance their academic and career development.
Academic Well-Being
Goal #2: Help each student develop the Academic Well-Being skills, strategies, and connections to thrive academically.
Career Readiness
Goal #3: Prepare each student to pursue post-graduation goals with confidence through Career Readiness experiences.
How we’re accomplishing these goals

Data and assessment
The Office of Student Success Analytics provides assessment, dashboards, and data-informed insights to support decision-making, strengthen the QEP’s three focus areas, and improve student success across the division.
Together, these efforts position the QEP as a dynamic, forward-looking strategy, one that connects academic and co-curricular work, energizes our campus community, and keeps student success at the center of everything we do.
