Alumni career support

You’ve graduated, now what? Alumni have access to a range of services through the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration and the UT Alumni Association.

Your path depends on when you graduated

Within one year of graduating

UT alums who are less than one year removed from their graduation date continue to use the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration for appointments and events.

You can schedule an appointment with your Industry Career Coach to discuss your post graduation plans, review your resume, practice interviewing, and more. Email the appropriate Career Coach for your industry or college.

More than one year after graduating

UT alums who are greater than one year from their graduation date can schedule appointments through the UT Alumni Association’s Center for Career Advancement.

What you can still use

Career Profiles

Career Profiles store aggregated data on students’ next steps after graduation, whether it’s a job, graduate school, military service, and more. Data is also collected to calculate salary averages and popular geographic locations. Research career options and view past data in our reports.

Handshake

Handshake is free for students and alumni and offers access to more than 500,000 employers. More than 800 colleges and universities use Handshake, so you can connect with a wide national network of employers.

If you are within one year of your graduation date, you will log in using your UT NetID and password, which will remain active for that time period.

Alumni who have graduated more than a year ago can sign up for an account using the email address of your choice. Your account will be approved within one to two business days after verification of alumni status.
