Biography

What do you enjoy most about working with UT undergrads?

I find joy in learning and listening to our students’ life stories. Each student is a walking story, and taking the time to listen is always rewarding. It reminds me of how our individual stories connect us all together. Interacting with students provides me with a new perspective on the world through their lens.

What is the most important advice you would give new students?

Our lives before college don’t come to a halt when we enter; instead, I believe they pick up speed, and life moves at a rapid pace. There are moments when we can keep up, and times when it may run over us. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s important to realize when you need relief. The University has provided many resources to help you excel in your studies. Don’t wait until you hit rock bottom to ask for help; utilize the support available on Rocky Top for your academic and personal flourishing. The resources are here for YOU—use them to make the most of your time here at UTK.

Why should students take advantage of the ASC?

The ASC is an excellent resource to help you imagine and re-imagine your college experience. It offers many opportunities, including workshops, study sessions, and individualized academic coaching, providing you tools for a sustainable and enjoyable journey in the Big Orange Community.
