End your spring 2022 semester with a strong finish. Take advantage of Study Day (May 11) as a transition between the end of classes and start of finals to review and practice course content, prepare for exams by organizing your notes and materials, and utilize student success resources for final tips on mastering final exams!

Vol Success Tips – Final Exam Edition

Use these tips as you prepare, whether before, during, or after final exams. Every student learns and studies in a unique way, and these tips may help you build a system of organization, preparation, and management that is customized to your own needs.

Study with the ASC in multiple locations!

The ASC will have academic and study coaches and SI leaders available to answer questions, study tips, encouragement, and swag!

Drop in to Greve Hall (302, 304, 311), Hodges Library (220K), Zeanah Engineering, Frieson Black Cultural Center, and online throughout the day for assistance.

Vol Study Center in Greve Hall

The Vol Study Center on the third floor of Greve Hall will be open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on May 11 and then regular hours through May 18 for studying, refreshments, snacks, games, and puzzles. Students (and staff) are welcome to stop by for a brain break!


Pet a Dog, Ask a Human

HABIT Dogs, SI leaders, and tutors will be in Hodges Library from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on May 11. Students are welcome to drop in and de-stress with a dog while chatting with a tutor or SI leader about their finals.


Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental instruction allows students to work together to develop strategies to master course content, review material, and prepare for quizzes and tests. SI is available for 20 courses via Zoom. SI study sessions last two hours and are recorded. Contact the SI leader for a link to the recording.

Many departments and colleges also offer academic assistance. Some examples include Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center, The Math Place, the Physics Tutorial Center, the Tennessee Online Public Speaking Center, and the Chemistry Tutorial Center. These academic support offerings are at no cost to the student.
