Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) are trained and supervised paraprofessionals who provide career development assistance on a peer-to-peer level through the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration. PCA’s host daily drop-in hours throughout the semester to assist students with brief career questions that include:
- Resumes
- Cover Letters
- Handshake
- Job and Internship Search
- Professional Headshots
- Interviewing

They provide initial assistance and can refer students to additional Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration Resources.

PCA’s are on a team of around 10 undergraduate Peer Career Advisors that are supervised by Alexis Andershock, Assistant Director of Outreach. Below are more details regarding the role:
- Part-Time: Around 10 hours per week
- Majority of working hours between 8:00am-5:00pm in-person during the fall/spring semesters
- Some weeknight and weekend presentations required (virtual and in-person)
- Preferred commitment to two years upon time of hire
- Paid Role
- $12.00 with opportunity for a raise in future with longevity and/or promotion to a Lead PCA Position
- The position is work-study eligible

Qualifications:
- Desire to assist other UT students
- Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills
- Creativity, work ethic, and productivity with minimal supervision
- Minimum GPA of 2.75
- Ability to participate in 5 hours of weekly paid training in Spring 2025
- Ability to work shifts between 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday
- Preferred commitment to work two years after hire
- Mandatory in-person weekly training, Monday’s 3:00pm-4:00pm
- Mandatory in-person weekly meeting, Monday’s 4:00pm-5:00pm
