Once you have a draft of your resume or cover letter the next step is to have it critiqued. The Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration offers both drop-in critiques and scheduled critiques.
Walk-In Resume Reviews
Peer Career Advisors provide one-on-one resume reviews, held in-person or virtually;
1. Drop-In Hours
- Held in the CCDAE, Student Union 201 (right above Starbucks)
- Monday through Thursday, 10am – 3pm, no appointment needed
- Ideal for quick questions and in-person guidance
- Last check-in is 15 minutes before closing
2. Resume Drop (Virtual Resume Review)
- Email your resume as a PDF or Word document to pca@utk.edu with the subject line Resume Drop
- Include your name, major, year, and what you’re using the resume for (job, internship, class assignment, graduate school, scholarship, etc.) in your email
- Receive personalized video feedback within 5 business days
Appointments
- For a more in-depth critique, you can schedule an appointment with a career coach designated to your major area of study.
- Appointments can last between 30 minutes to one hour.
