Mission
The primary role of the Veterans Success Center (VSC) is to connect student veterans with the services they need to obtain their undergraduate or graduate degree. The center offers assistance and guidance to our active duty service members, veterans, reservists, guardsmen, and family members using their VA educational benefits. The VSC works collaboratively with multiple campus partners to provide programs and opportunities to bridge the gap from military service to higher education to job obtainment and ensure student veteran success both in and out of the classroom.
Vision
In support of the mission, and as the flagship university of the state of Tennessee, the VSC will be the innovative leader for the development and implementation of best practices for the advancement and engagement of veteran and military-affiliated student success. The VSC will efficiently maximize support for this diverse student population by designing unique, purposeful, and intentional services that ensure academic and holistic transition. As a focal point for veteran and military-affiliated student transition programs and services, the VSC will emphasize innovative collaboration to engage others who are committed to raising awareness and success of these students. Our mission and vision will also align with the Division of Student Success, as well as the universities strategic plan to be an innovative leader in higher education.
