Tuition Assistance

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, allows active duty service members to use TA (Tuition Assistance) as a financial aid source for college tuition. The UT Veterans Benefits Administration staff are available to help guide you through the process for applying for TA. Please visit the Veterans Success Center on the ground floor of Hodges Library. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Computers with CAC card readers are available in our office. Please stop by or call our office at 865-974-5420 if you have questions or need assistance.

  • Must be currently serving and eligible once a student is enlisted.

  • Payment is provided and capped at $250.00 per credit hour per fiscal year (October 1 – September 30).
  • Payment for up to 16 hours per fiscal year. This results in a $4500.00 cap yearly.
  • Flagged soldiers are ineligible for FTA.
  • The degree plan is required to be submitted after two classes.
  • Graduate students are eligible once they complete their UG degree and provide transcripts to base personal office.
